Portuguese tart
PIZZA

Hot custard on crispy base with a dusting of
icing sugar. 
You won't be able to stop at one slice.

Ingredients:

  • 1 x Sugo Tu pizza dough disc

  • Egg Custard Powder to make about 200g of thick custard

  • Icing Sugar

Note: Pouring custard won't work for this recipe. We used egg custard powder for a thick consistency. 

Method:

1) Pre-heat the oven to 250C.

2) Prepare the dough according to pack instructions. 

3) Shape the dough round and place onto a baking screen or floured surface.

5) Mix your custard to a thick consistency, it should be spreadable - not liquid.

6) Top the dough with custard, we used a piping bag. Smooth the custard over with a spatula leaving an inch crust around the edge.

7) Bake for 6-7 minutes until the custard turns golden brown on top and the base and crispy and baked. 

8) Sprinkle around the crust with icing sugar.
