Chilli mussels

Fresh mussels cooked in Sugo tu pizza sauce with a hint of chilli. Serve with crusty bread made using our pizza dough to mop up your plate.

  • 300g - 360g of Sugo tu Pizza Sauce

  • 1.5kg Fresh Mussels (beard removed)

  • 1 fresh Chilli, chopped

  • 1/2 cup dry white wine

  • 1 lemon

  • Italian Parsely for Garnish


1. Heat Sauce and chilli in pan until simmering.

2. Add white wine and bring to the boil.

3. Reduce heat to simmer uncovered for about 8 minutes until a thicker consistency.

4. Add mussels to the sauce. Cover and cook, shaking pan occasionally, for 3 to 5 minutes or until mussel shells open. Discard unopened shells. Ladle sauce and mussels into bowls. Sprinkle with parsley.

Serve with fresh crusty bread.
